Alexander S. Preker is the President and CEO of Health Investment & Financing, a New York based firm that specializes in investment and advisory services for small and medium size healthcare businesses. He is the Chair of the External Editorial Committee of the World Hospitals and Health Services Journal for the International Hospital Federation (IHF). Mr. Preker has worked at the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Development Association (IDA), as well as the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Mr. Preker has published extensively, having written many scientific articles and authored over 15 books. He is a globally recognized expert on health insurance, health financing, capital finance, and private sector development in the health sector. He has a PhD from the London School of Economics and an MD from McGill University.
